A direct bank connection lets rAInty connect to your bank through a secure authorization flow.

This is the automatic option. It is useful when your bank is supported and you want rAInty to synchronize transactions without manually uploading files.

When to use it

Use a direct connection when:

  • your bank is available in the bank search;
  • you want automatic transaction synchronization;
  • you are comfortable authorizing access through the bank provider page;
  • you want to reduce manual CSV work.

Main steps

  1. Open Bank Account.
  2. Choose the option to add a new bank account.
  3. Select the direct connection option.
  4. Search for your bank.
  5. Select the bank from the list.
  6. Start the authorization flow.
  7. Complete the authorization on the bank provider page.
  8. Return to rAInty after the bank confirms the connection.

After the connection is completed, the account appears in rAInty.

Synchronizing transactions

Once the connection is active, you can synchronize transactions.

During synchronization, rAInty asks the banking provider for new movements and imports them into the bank account.

When the provider returns account balances, the same synchronization also refreshes the latest balance shown on the bank account tile.

The imported transactions can then be:

  • reviewed in the transaction list;
  • matched with rent payments;
  • matched with expenses;
  • classified or reconciled.

Authorization expiry

Bank authorizations can expire.

When this happens, the account may still be visible, but rAInty may not be able to synchronize new transactions until the authorization is renewed.

The bank account detail page shows connection information such as the bank, connection date, and expiry date when available.

What to check

If synchronization does not work, check:

  • the bank authorization is still active;
  • the bank account is connected to the correct user;
  • the selected date range is correct;
  • the bank provider allows transactions for that period.
